coreFORCE - Products: How to Add State Restrictions in coreFORCE

coreFORCE Advanced and Enterprise Only

We added a filter to products maintenance to allow you to find products that DO NOT have a particular state restriction on them. This is the surefire way to make sure that you don't miss any that the distributor missed. If you combine this filter with a category filter (Magazine, for example), and then search a capacity (30rd, 30RD, 30 rd, etc.), you can use the actions menu to "select all" and then export selected.

Process:

On the exported file, you need to make column A = "product_ID", B = "product_code", C = "state_restrictions.

Clear out all of the data from rows C and over.

Plug in "WA" for row 2, column C, and copy that to every other row in column C. (If you need to restrict the product in multiple states, separate the restrictions with |, e.g. CA|MA|MD)

Go to Products > CSV Import.

Select the edited file for import.

Import the file to update your products.

This whole process should take 30-50 seconds per export/import process.

Example:

We will continue to do some of these ourselves just to help out over time, but this will ultimately fall on you as the final line of defense.

One Final Note

In cases like the example above, it is possible that some products may be mis-categorized by distributors (such as speedloaders, etc.). If you want to be extra careful, you can filter your columns in excel by ONLY columns that contain 1 category where that 1 category = "Magazine"
