coreFORCE Advanced - Products: Creating Membership Subscriptions

1. Click on Products

First, navigate to the Products menu.

Step 1 screenshot

2. Click on Products

Under the Products menu, locate the Products submenu.

Step 2 screenshot

3. Click on Subscriptions

Under the Products submenu, navigate to and locate the Subscriptions option. This is where we will establish your membership subscriptions.

Step 3 screenshot

4. Click on ADD

In the top-right corner of your Subscriptions Dashboard, click the Add button to create your new membership subscription products.

Step 4 screenshot

5. Subscription Code

In the Subscription Code field, assign a unique name to your membership options. For this example, we are working with the Commander Memberships.

Step 5 screenshot

6. Description

It is recommended to use the same description as your Subscription Code to maintain uniformity and easy identification.

Step 6 screenshot

7. Notify Days

You can specify the number of days prior to billing to notify your clients of the upcoming charge.

Step 7 screenshot

8. Maximum Retries for Payment

The Maximum Retries for Payment setting allows the system to continue attempting to bill the card if the payment fails on the due date. This can be beneficial in cases where a customer's card has expired and is updated within a few days.

"Maximum Retries for Payment" if set to zero, the payment will be marked as requires attention and not retried. But, if there is a number of days established, the system will keep trying once per day, AND if it fails all the retries, the system will automatically end the membership instead of marking it "requires attention".

Step 8 screenshot

9. Pause Options

The Pause Options setting allows your clients to pause their membership billing.
By default the system does allow customers to pause their subscription. The pause options allow you to set it up so that the pause will be automatically ended after X days and/or the customer will be charged a "pause fee" for each month that they leave it paused. To completely disable pausing, you must add - USER_CANNOT_PAUSE_SUBSCRIPTION option for the subscription page. If you need assistance please reach out to support.

Step 9 screenshot

10. Only one subscription allowed at a time

The Only One Subscription Allowed at a Time setting ensures that clients can only have one active membership type associated with their account.

Step 10 screenshot

11. Click on ADD PRODUCT

Clicking Add Product allows you to create product items for your subscription. In this example, we will create both an Individual and a Couples option for the Commander Membership.

Step 11 screenshot

12. Startup Product Description

In the Startup Product Description field, provide a unique name for your product. For this example, we used Commander Individual Start-Up to differentiate it from the Commander Couples Membership.

Step 12 screenshot

13. Detailed Description

Use the Detailed Description field to outline the membership and the perks clients will receive upon purchase. This description will be displayed on the product detail page.

Step 13 screenshot

14. Product Category

From the Product Category selection, locate the category you wish to use, as established in the Membership Taxonomy Guide.

Step 14 screenshot

15. Product Image

Similar to an inventory item, you can upload a product image for your memberships.

Step 15 screenshot

16. Startup Price

Set a Startup Price for your subscription product. This price typically includes the first month of the membership and any applicable startup fees you wish to establish.

Step 16 screenshot

17. Startup includes in subscription

In the Startup Includes in Subscription field, specify how many months the initial payment covers for the membership. For example, setting it to one month means the next payment will be due one month after the initial purchase for the renewal product.

Step 17 screenshot

18. Recurring Payment Type

For recurring memberships, set the Recurring Payment Type to Monthly. If the membership is billed annually, use this setting but ensure the Startup Includes in Subscription field is set to 12 months, and apply the same configuration for the renewal product.

Step 18 screenshot

19. Renewal Product Description

In the Renewal Product Description field, enter a descriptive product name for the renewal. For example, you could use Commander Individual Renewal to easily distinguish this renewal item from other renewals.

Renewal products are automatically marked as Internal Use Only, meaning they will not be directly available for clients to purchase. Clients must purchase the startup product.

Step 19 screenshot

20. Product Category

The Product Category for the renewal product should match the category of the startup product. This ensures the system correctly assigns the item to its category and accurately books revenue in reporting.

Step 20 screenshot

21. Renewal Price

The Renewal Price field specifies the recurring billing amount for the subscription after the initial startup fee. For example, in this case, the recurring billing is set at $100 per month following the $200 startup fee.

Step 21 screenshot

22. ADD PRODUCT

Click Add Product if you wish to include another tier for this membership product. Otherwise, click Save to complete the product creation.

Step 22 screenshot

23. Startup Product Description

In this example, we are adding a Commander Couple Membership. As shown, we have clearly identified this as a couples membership, making it easy to distinguish between the Individual and Couples options for the Commander Membership type.

Step 23 screenshot

24. Detailed Description

In the Detailed Description, I have outlined the perks of this membership and specified that it is designed for couples.

Step 24 screenshot

25. Product Category

Once again, select the appropriate Product Category where this item will be stored and its sales income will be tracked.

Step 25 screenshot

26. Startup Price

Since this is a Couples Membership, I have adjusted the Startup Price to accommodate two members.

Step 26 screenshot

27. Startup Includes in subscription

In the Startup Includes in Subscription field, we have once again specified that the initial payment covers one month of benefits. You can adjust this setting as needed to align with the desired schedule for the next payment due date.

Step 27 screenshot

28. Recurring Payment Type

Specify the frequency of the Recurring Payment for this membership type.

Step 28 screenshot

29. Renewal Product Description

Once again, assign a unique identifier to the Renewal Product. In this example, we have used Commander Couple Renewal to clearly differentiate it from the individual membership product.

Step 29 screenshot

30. Product Category

As before, assign the appropriate Product Category to store this item and book the income under the specified category.

Step 30 screenshot

31. Renewal Price

Set the Price Point for the monthly subscription payments following the initial setup fee. In this instance, we are using $150.00, providing clients with a cost-saving benefit compared to purchasing two individual memberships.

Step 31 screenshot

32. Click on SAVE

Click on Save to finalize your changes.

Step 32 screenshot

33. Click on Startup Product ID

In your subscription setup, clicking on the Startup Product ID that was automatically generated will take you to the individual product. This allows you to make changes directly at the product level.

Step 33 screenshot

34. Click on VIEW

Clicking on the View button while reviewing the created subscription product will redirect you to your website. This allows you to view the product on the shopping cart page and verify that the information is accurate.

Step 34 screenshot

35. Product details

On the product pages, you can now view the established pricing and specifications for your newly created subscriptions.
