coreSTORE - Shogo - Update 9-30-2025

Overview

We've implemented a date-based restriction for editing sales when Shogo accounting integration is enabled. This prevents modifications to sales after midnight on the day they were created.

What Changed

When Shogo Integration is ENABLED:

  • Sales can now only be edited on the same day they were created
  • Once midnight passes (12:00 AM), the sale becomes read-only
  • Users will see a clear error message explaining the restriction
  • The edit/change sale buttons will be hidden for sales from previous days

When Shogo Integration is DISABLED:

  • No change - sales can still be edited at any time (with proper permissions)

Why This Change Was Made

The Shogo accounting integration requires accurate daily records. Allowing edits to sales from previous days would create discrepancies in accounting data that has already been synced. This restriction ensures data integrity while still allowing same-day corrections.

What Users Will See

Error Message:

Header: "This Sale Cannot Be Edited"

Message: "This sale cannot be edited as it was completed on a previous date.
When the Shogo accounting integration is enabled, sales can only be edited
on the same day they were created."

UI Changes:

  • Edit/Change Sale buttons will not appear on receipts or sale details for sales from previous days
  • Delete/Void buttons will also be hidden for sales from previous days (when Shogo is enabled)

What Happens When Editing is Blocked

The restriction applies to:

  1. Change Sale function (editing an existing sale)
  2. Unsuspend function (resuming a suspended sale)
  3. Delete/Void operations for old sales

Alternative Actions for Users

If a user needs to correct a sale from a previous day:

  1. Create a Return: Process the incorrect sale as a return
  2. Create New Sale: Complete a new, correct sale
  3. Contact Administrator: If unsure how to proceed

Update: Improved Shogo Integration & Sales Editing Changes,

We’ve rolled out an update to strengthen our integration with Shogo accounting. This update makes data sharing with Shogo more seamless and ensures your sales data stays accurate and consistent.

What’s Changing with Sales Editing,

  • Completed sales can no longer be edited when Shogo integration is enabled.,
  • If you try to edit a sale, you’ll see the message:,
“Sales cannot be edited when Shogo accounting integration is enabled.”
  • Instead, you’ll need to void the sale or process a return.,
  • This restriction applies to all sale details — items, quantities, prices, customer info, etc.,

Void/Delete Button Updates,

  • The Void/Delete button is now disabled (grayed out).,
  • A new help icon appears next to it. Clicking the icon will show this explanation:,
“This function is disabled when Shogo is active. To handle returns or cancellations, create a return transaction. Go to the sale receipt and click Create Return to properly process returned items and refunds.”

How to Handle Changes Going Forward,

  • Returns → Use Create Return from the sale receipt.,
  • Corrections → Create a new sale with the correct details.,
  • Cancellations → Process as a return transaction.,

Why This Matters,

These restrictions are automatically applied whenever Shogo integration is active. They ensure that your accounting data stays clean, accurate, and fully synchronized with Shogo — preventing reconciliation issues or reporting errors.
