Cash Rounding - New Feature

What It Does

Automatically rounds sale totals to the nearest $0.05 when customer pays with cash only. Eliminates the need for pennies.

Configuration

Store Config → Sales Tab → Cash Rounding Mode

  • Disabled — No rounding ($10.02 stays $10.02)
  • Round to Nearest 0.05 — Standard rounding ($10.02 → $10.00, $10.03 → $10.05)
  • Always Round Up — Only rounds up ($10.01 → $10.05)

Optional: Store Config → Receipt Tab → "Hide Rounding Adjustment on Receipt"

How It Works

  1. Only triggers on Cash payments — Card/Check/Store Account = no rounding
  2. Calculates rounding difference and adds/subtracts from total
  3. Shows as "Rounding Adjustment" line on receipt (unless hidden)
  4. Automatically included in reports

Troubleshooting

  • Rounding not applying - Is payment type set to Cash?
  • Can't see rounding on receipt - Is "Hide Rounding Adjustment" enabled in Config?
  • Total doesn't match expected - Non-cash payment? Mixed payment?
  • Old sales don't have rounding - Only applies to sales made AFTER feature was enabled.

Quick Facts

  • Applies to: Cash payments only
  • Rounds to: Nearest $0.05 (nickel)
  • Reports: Include rounding in totals automatically
  • Does NOT apply to: Card, Check, Store Account, Gift Cards, Custom Payment Types
