coreSTORE- Inventory: Navigating the Category Dashboard
coreSTORE - Inventory: Navigating the Category Dashboard
In this guide, we will cover the basic navigation of the Category Dashboard. Please note that there is a separate article on creating and establishing your taxonomy.
1. Search Field
In the search field of the Category Dashboard, you can quickly search for your root or child category by name, allowing for efficient searching.
2. Add Root Category
The Add Root Category option allows you to create a new parent category. For example, if you have a Book root category, you could create child categories such as Sci-Fi, Adventure, etc.
3. Map Channel Categories
Map Channel Categories allows you to define how coreSTORE categories align with your selling channel categories. For example, if you are using coreFORCE, you might want your Handgun Ammunition category in coreSTORE to map to a general Ammunition category on your selling channel.
4. Manage Deleted Category
Manage Deleted Categories allows you to view the categories that have been deleted from the coreSTORE system. You can also reinstate those categories from this menu option.
5. Add Child Category
The Add Child Category button allows you to add a subcategory under the corresponding root category of your selection.
6. Action Options
The Action options allow you to edit an existing root or child category to make desired changes, or you have the option to delete the corresponding category.
7. Hide from Item Grid
The Hide from Item Grid option allows you to hide the selected category from the point-of-sale touchscreen grid (if that setting is enabled), giving you control over which categories you want to display as quick touchscreen buttons for sales.
8. Product Count
The green icon displaying a numerical value serves as a quick indicator of how many products exist in the corresponding category.
