coreSTORE - Settings: Enabling Variation Settings
In this guide, we will cover configuring your optional variation settings in coreSTORE. These settings include defining the item variation lookup order, enabling variants on your coreFORCE website, and enforcing the selection of a corresponding variation item number when selling a variation.
1. Click on Settings
To access your variation settings, navigate to Company > Settings from the coreSTORE menu bar.
2. Search Bar
In the search bar, start typing Variation as shown in the example below. This will display the three areas where variation setting options are available: Application Settings, Ecommerce Platform, and the Sales Area.

First, navigate to the Application Settings
4. Item Lookup Order
You will notice that the item variation item number is a configurable option in the item lookup order. This setting determines the sequence used when searching for an item. The layout below displays the current search order, which you can adjust to suit your needs
5. Click on Ecommerce Platform
Next, navigate to the Ecommerce Platform section.
6. Enable Item Variant Sync
In the Ecommerce Platform section, you will find the option to Enable Item Variant Sync. This setting is crucial for publishing variants to coreFORCE. Be sure to enable this option if you plan to offer variations on your eCommerce platform.
7. Click on Sales
Next, navigate to the Sales section of your settings.
8. Do NOT Allow Variation Items To Be Sold Without Selecting Variation
The Do NOT Allow Variation Items To Be Sold Without Selecting Variation option in the Sales section is recommended to be set to Enabled. This ensures that the appropriate variation, such as the correct color, size, or other attributes, is selected and recorded when selling an item.
9. Click on Save
Click on Save to finalize your changes.
