coreSTORE - Getting Started: Default Consignment Fees
When doing a consignment, you have the option to set a default cost percent or a fee inside of coreSTORE.
A consignment cost percent refers to the percentage of the sale price of a consigned item that is retained by the consignment store or seller as a fee for selling the item. In a consignment arrangement, the owner of the item (the consignor) allows the consignment store or seller (the consignee) to sell the item on their behalf. When the item is sold, the consignor receives the sale proceeds minus the consignment fee, which is calculated based on the consignment cost percent.
For example, if the consignment cost percent is 30% and an item is sold for $100, the consignment store retains $30 as their fee, and the consignor receives $70.
