coreSTORE - Getting Started: Configuring Rounding Rules

In this article, we will discuss the purpose and setup of rounding rules in coreSTORE. Rounding rules help ensure uniform transaction amounts by adjusting prices to more convenient figures. For example, if a markup or margin calculator sets an item price at $1.87, you can round it to $1.99 for consistency. This guide will show you how to implement these rules to maintain standardized pricing across your transactions.

Explanation

Customizing Rounding Rules in coreSTORE (Optional):

Access rounding rules through "Company > Settings" (refer to previous instructions for finding the exact location in your system). Here's how to create and manage rounding rules:

Adding a New Rule: Locate the "Add Rounding Rule" button (or similar wording) and click it.

Define Your Rule: Set the following parameters for your new rule:

Minimum Amount: The lowest price point where this rule applies (e.g., $0.00).

Maximum Amount: The highest price point where this rule applies (e.g., $1.00 for this example).

Rounding Amount: The value to round prices to within the specified range (e.g., $0.99 in this example).

Example: Rounding Between $0 and $1.00:

Create a rule with a minimum amount of $0.00, a maximum amount of $1.00, and a rounding amount of $0.99. This will round all prices between $0.00 and $1.00 (inclusive) up to $0.99.

Adding Multiple Rules (Optional):

You can create additional rules to define different rounding behaviors for various price ranges. For instance, you could create a separate rule for prices between $1.00 and $50.00 with a different rounding amount.

Single Rule for All Prices (Optional):

If you want all prices to round the same way, you can create a single rule with a minimum amount of $0.00 and a maximum amount equal to your highest expected price point. Set the rounding amount according to your preference.
