coreSTORE - FFL: Where Is My Serial Number
There are a few reasons this error could happen inside of coreSTORE. Always make sure you are receiving firearms through correct processes such as
PO & Receiving
Trade Ins
Private Purchases
Transfers
However, if you do run into this issue, this is the first thing you should check to fix the error so you can proceed with the sale of this firearm.
When the Error Occurs
The error occurs after adding the firearm and attempting to scan the serial number. Alternatively, when attempting to scan just the serial number to find the boundbook record, the system tries to search the online catalog instead of bringing up the item and boundbook record.
Click on Dashboard
The first step to fixing this issue is going to your boundbook dashboard.
Locate the Serial Number
Locate the serial number in the correct boundbook that the item is stored, either by searching for the serial number, or any item info.

Click on Edit
Attach the Item Information
The most common reason why the serial number cannot be found is because it is not attached to an inventory item. To attach it, simply search for the item in your store or manually create the item to link this boundbook record.
Confirming the Data
Once everything is updated, take the time to double-check all of the item information and make sure you are not missing any required boundbook information.
Click on Save
Notes
Leave any notes if required to the record
Click on Save
Go Back or Unsuspend the Sale
Attempt to Attach or Search the Serial Number

As you can see, the system now immediately pulls up the serial number once the inventory and boundbook are matched.

You can also confirm the serial number is attached in the item details.
