CoreSTORE - FFL: Processing a 3310

How to process a ATF 3310 Form.

3310 Forms

Our system helps ensure compliance with federal regulations by automatically generating ATF Form 3310.4 whenever you sell two or more handguns to the same person within five consecutive business days.

This form needs to be submitted to the ATF and your local law enforcement agency.

Step 1 screenshot

Manage 4473 Alert

Once you complete the associated order, an alert will appear in two locations.

First, an orange box with a white triangle will appear in the Manage 4473 page. Clicking this box will open the 3310 form for processing.

Step 2 screenshot

Verify the Information

The system automatically fills the form with firearm and customer details from the 4473, and law enforcement agency info from your Bound Book settings.

Please review everything for accuracy before submitting.

Step 3 screenshot

Print and Email

You can choose to print the completed Form 3310 for your records, however, it will automatically attach to the 4473 PDF. To send the form, click "Submit by Email" and the system will send it directly to the ATF and the local law enforcement agency you designated.

Step 4 screenshot

Bound Book Dashboard Alert

The second place the 3310 alert will appear is on the Bound Book Dashboard underneath the Bound Book tiles.

Step 5 screenshot

Access the 3310

Clicking "Fill Out Form 3310.4" opens the form. You can then follow the same printing and emailing steps described earlier.

Step 6 screenshot

Manually Generate a 3310

If the system doesn't automatically generate a Form 3310, you can create one manually.

On the Manage 4473 page, select the "3 Dot Menu" next to the 4473 in question. This will open a menu with additional options.

Step 7 screenshot

Create 3310

Within this expanded menu, select the "Create 3310 From 4473" option.

Step 8 screenshot

Confirm 3310 Creation

A confirmation prompt will appear. Click "Continue" to generate the 3310 form. You can then follow the same steps described earlier to process and submit the form.

Step 9 screenshot

To Access 3310.12

Click the gear icon on the right to enable viewing the Form 3310.12 (Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Certain Rifles) in Manage 4473.

This form is only required for southern border state dealers.

Step 10 screenshot

Select 3310 (Rifle)

Check the "3310 (Rifle)" option in the drop down menu.

Step 11 screenshot

3310.12 Viewable

After enabling viewing, you'll now see a dedicated space for Form 3310.12 alerts on the Manage 4473 page. A 3310.12 is processed the same way as the 3310.4 except it is only required to be sent to the ATF.

Step 12 screenshot

Subsequent 3310 within 5 days.

If within 5 consecutive business days the buyer purchases additional firearms subject to the 3310 requirement the system will generate the additional 3310.

EXAMPLE BELOW: Two handguns were sold to John Smith on Jun 17, 2024 (4473 ID #14). He returned on Jun 18, 2024 and purchased an additional handgun (4473 ID #15). Not only is there a 3310 for #14 but the system has now generated a 3310 for #15 to account for the additional handgun purchase that falls under the reporting requirement.

You access the 3310 the same way as described previously.

Step 13 screenshot

Box 2c Populated

Box 2c, "Are any of the firearm(s) connected to another multiple sale?, will be checked yes and will include the date of that previous sale.

This ties the transaction to the previous 3310 for this customer for tracing purposes by the National Tracing Center (NTC).

Step 14 screenshot

Additional Firearm Listed

This 3310, created subsequent to a previous 3310, will list the new firearm that meets the requirement for a 3310.

NOTE: It will not include the firearms listed on the previous 3310 as recommended by our regulatory agencies.

Processing is completed the same way using the Print and Email buttons at the bottom of the form.
