coreSTORE - FFL: Moving a Firearm Between Bound Books

How to move a firearm to different bound books within the same location.

Go to Bound Book Dashboard

Select "Bound Book" in the left hand menu and "Dashboard" in the expanded menu.

Select Bound Book

Select the Bound Book that the firearm is currently "in Stock" in.

Locate the serial number using the "Search Bound Book Field"

This will bring up the line item for that serial number.

NOTE: For this example we are going to move a firearm from the Primary book and into the Work Order & Repairs book.

Open Action Options

Check the box to the left of the record to be moved.

This will open several options just below the Bound Book tiles.

Select the "Move" Option

Selecting "Move" will open a list of the Bound Books that are available in this location.

Select Bound Book

Select the Bound Book you want to move the firearm into.

Record Disposed

The status indicator in the original Bound Book will change to "Disposed."

You can select "Edit" to examine the disposition record.

From the open Bound Book record, Select the Disposition Information tab.

Disposition Information

The system will track the firearm's movement. A record will be created showing it was transferred to the same FFL, specifying the Bound Book it's moved to and its new record number.

Verify the New Acquisition

To view the acquisition into the new Bound Book, go back to the Bound Book Dashboard page.

Select the Bound Book you moved the firearm into (in our example it is the Work Orders & Repairs book).

Locate the serial number using the "Search Bound Book Field." The record will display with an In Stock status indicator.

Open the Record

Click on "Edit" to the left of the record.

Once it is open, select the "Acquisition Information" tab.

Acquisition Information

The system will create a record showing it was acquired from the same FFL, specifying the Bound Book it was moved from and its previous record number.
