coreSTORE - FFL: Creating a Firearm Record
In this guide, we will cover the steps and required fields for creating a firearm record in coreSTORE. coreSTORE allows you to establish the overall model and track individual serial number records under that model.
Navigate to the Inventory menu and select the Items sub-menu to open your items list.

In the top right-hand corner, locate the Create New Item action button.

Enter the Item Name for your product. In this example, I will be using G19 for a Glock 19.

Assign the Category that the firearm belongs to.

Based on your selected category, the system should automatically set the Type. This is required by the ATF for bound book purposes.

Select the appropriate Caliber for the firearm, as this is required by the ATF for your Acquisition and Disposition (A&D) reporting.

Set the Action Type of the firearm, as this is a required field by the ATF.

coreSTORE allows you to assign an Importer, which is required to be tracked when receiving a firearm from overseas.

Enter the Model of the firearm, as required by the ATF.

In the Supplier field, select the supplier you commonly receive this product from. This can be changed when receiving items, as you may occasionally order from a different supplier.

Provide a Description for your firearm record that will be customer-facing and easy for your employees to verify they have the correct product.

In the Item Settings area for a firearm, ensure the following:
Item Has Serial Number is checked (this should default based on the type you have established for the item).
If the product requires age verification, enable that feature and establish the age limit.
Check Requires Customer, as every firearm transaction must have a customer associated with it.

Navigate to the Pricing tab to establish the baseline Cost and Selling Price of the item.

Set the general Cost of the product. Keep in mind that since this is a serialized firearm, each serial number will have its own cost and selling price.

Set the general Selling Price of the product. Keep in mind that since this is a serialized firearm, each serial number will have its own cost and selling price.
