Inventory Count and Sales

The short answer is yes. When performing an inventory count, you can continue to make sales. The Actual On Hand Quantity does not update in real-time because this allows you to count and still process sales.

Once you complete counting for an item, as long as you don’t count it again, the Actual On Hand and what you counted remain the same. When you close the count, it will update based on the difference between these two numbers.

For Example:

Initial Count:
- Actual: 5
- Count: 6

After the Sale:
- Sell: 2
- Actual: 3

Close Count:
- Actual: 4 (Difference between original count and actual when counted)
