Click on Company
Click on Locations
Click on Edit
Click on Taxes & Fees
Click on Add Tax/Fee
Select 'Pistols' or any other category for which you would like to apply an automatic tax
Check the box for sub-categories
Check this box if you wish to apply the additional fees to the subcategories.
Type "EXCISE TAX" under the Fee Name
Check override_default_tax box
Click on default_tax_1_name to assign your normal sales tax
Select how much percent of tax rate
Click on default_tax_2_name and add the "Excise Tax
Select how much percent of the tax rate
Check default_tax_2_cumulative
Cumulative tax is a method of calculating tax where each tax rate is applied sequentially to the subtotal
Click on Save
Test by ringing up an item on the sale
