About shipping method exclusions in coreFORCE


In coreFORCE, not all shipping methods are available for every order. Depending on the contents of the shopping cart and shipping configurations, some methods may be automatically excluded during the checkout process. This article outlines the conditions under which shipping methods are filtered out and how to manage these settings.



Where to configure shipping method exclusions


All exclusions can be managed on the Shipping Charges page (Orders > Settings > Shipping Charges > [Select a shipping charge]) for each shipping method.


Note: Shipping method exclusions are only available for coreFORCE Advanced users.


Conditions that exclude shipping methods


1. Order total thresholds


You can restrict shipping methods based on the total order value using the following fields:

  • Minimum Order Amount: The shipping method is hidden if the order total is below this value.
  • Maximum Order Amount: The shipping method is hidden if the order total exceeds this value.


Use these settings to prevent certain shipping methods (e.g., express delivery) from appearing for very low- or high-value orders.




2. Shipping location restrictions


You can restrict shipping methods to specific geographic areas in the Locations section. Use the following columns to define location-based shipping rules:

  • Sequence Number
  • Country 
  • State
  • Postal Code
  • Exclude


If the customer’s shipping address is outside the specified locations, the shipping method will not appear at checkout. This ensures that location-specific carriers or rates are applied only where valid.


3. Pickup-only product restrictions


Note: This is only applicable for users that have the custom field PICKUP_ONLY enabled for both coreFORCE Basic and Advanced users. For details, contact the Coreware support team.


If an item in the cart is marked as pickup only, all non-pickup shipping methods are excluded at checkout. This is useful for products that must be picked up in-store, such as firearms or other regulated items.


Setting a product as pickup only
  1. On the sidebar, select Products > Products > Products.
  2. On the Products Maintenance page, select a product.
  3. Select the Data tab, and then select the Pickup Only checkbox.
  4. Click Save.
