# coreSTORE - Sales: Scan a Driver s License


Easily scan a driver's license in coreSTORE to quickly capture and store customer information. This user-friendly feature helps streamline your data entry process, saving time and ensuring accuracy.

**NOTE**: There are 2 ways of scanning and adding a Driver's license
1.  From the Sales Screen
2.  Customer Profile







1. Click on  Sales

2. Click on New Sale

3. Click on Scan License

4. Scan the Driver's License

**NOTE: Make sure to cover the top narrow barcode and only scan the 2D wide barcode**  
**The system will scan the "raw data" from the license**

5. Click on OK 

When you scan a customer's driver's license for the first time, the system will prompt you to add a new customer record. If the customer's record is already in the system, it will simply pull up the existing customer record and add it to the sales screen.

6. If it's a new record, the system will take you to the Customer Profile and auto-fill all the information

7. In the ID tab, you can view the driver's license information such as the license number and expiration date.

8. Click on Save

9. In the Customer Module, Click on  New Customer

10. Click on Id Tab

11. Click on Scan License and then follow the Steps 4 & 5, and DONE!
