# coreSTORE - Sales - How To Set Up a Restocking Fee

In coreSTORE you can setup various service items, in this article we will show you how to, specifically, setup a restocking fee.

# Create Restocking Fee
1. Click **Inventory** > **Items**

2. Click **+ New**

3. In this example we will name the fee **Restocking Fee** and the category will be **Fees**

4. In the **Item Settings** section, make sure that **Is Service** is checked with, in this case, no other checkbox’s are checked

5. Click the **Pricing** tab, which will save all settings created on the **Item Info** page

6. In this example we will set the restocking fee to 15% of the subtotal.

|| Make sure that if the **Allow Item To Be Sold Below Cost** checkbox is showing that it is checked or you will not be able to add this service item to the sale

7. Click Save

# Using The Restocking Fee

1. When completing a return, add the restocking fee as an item to the order

2. The system will automatically calculate a 15% restocking fee based on the sub-total

3. Complete the return as normal
