# coreSTORE - Inventory: Track serialized items that do not require bound book records

Beyond firearms, several items in your store might benefit from serial number tracking. Scopes, for instance, can be tracked for warranty or repair purposes, allowing you to efficiently manage customer service needs. This guide will show you how to set these up.

Please note: If you are not selling firearms this article is not relevant, you simply mark any item as serialized.


1. Click on  Inventory

2. Click on Types

3. Click on Add Type

4. Enter the name of the type you want to create "optic" in this example

5. Check Do Not Add To Bound Book:

6. Click on Save

7. Click on  Inventory

8. Click on Items

9. Click on  New Item to create a new item

10. Make sure you fill in the following fields

Item name, Category, Type (needs to be the type you created), and UPC(not required but recommended)

11. Check Item Has Serial Number:
