coreSTORE - Inventory: Managing Tags

In this document, we will explain how to use Inventory Tags in coreSTORE. Inventory Tags help you segment inventory in both coreSTORE and coreFORCE, allowing for better organization and management. Examples include consignments, settled consignments, items requiring FFLs, and featured products. These tags can also be transmitted to coreFORCE as product tags, ensuring consistent categorization across platforms. This guide will help you set up and manage Inventory Tags effectively.

  1. Inventory > Tags

Find Item Tags:

Head to "Inventory" on the main menu or navigation bar. Then, look for a sub-menu or option titled "Tags". This will take you to the section where you can manage tags for your inventory items within coreSTORE.

  1. Manage Tags Screen

Inventory Tags for Organization:

These tags, including custom ones or defaults (like "Consignment" or "FFL Required"), help categorize and track inventory based on specific needs. This can be useful for filtering, searching, keeping your inventory organized, or using them for promotions for top sellers, featured products and flagging items for price rules in coreSTORE!

  1. Click on Add tag

Adding Custom Inventory Tags:

"Add Tag," this button allows you to create your own custom tags (like "On Sale" or "Top Seller") to categorize and track your inventory items.

  1. Tag Name

Naming Your Custom Tag:

When creating a new tag in Inventory > Tags (top right corner "Add Tag"), enter a clear and descriptive name in the "Tag Name" field. This could be something like "On Sale" or "New Product," depending on your specific needs. This name will help you easily identify the tag's purpose when managing your inventory.

  1. Don Not Sell At Locations

Do Not Sell At Locations (Optional):

While creating a custom tag in Inventory > Tags (top right corner "Add Tag"), consider using the "Do Not Sell At Locations" tag (if available). This tag can be helpful for managing inventory with state-specific sales restrictions. By assigning this tag to an item, you can potentially prevent its sale at specific locations within your system.

  1. Restricted Item

Marking Restricted Items (Optional):

While creating a custom tag (Inventory > Tags, "Add Tag"), you will see an option to designate the tag for "Restricted Items." This depends on your coreSTORE setup. If available, selecting this option can be used to flag specific items as restricted based on your criteria (e.g., state regulations).
