# coreSTORE - Inventory - How to Merge Inventory Data

### Navigate to the Merge Data tool

1. Click **Inventory** > **Items**

2. Click the " **...** " button in the upper right corner

3. Click on the **Merge Data** option

### Merge Data Screen
You have several options on how to merge your data.

1. To merge exact matches (merging all items that have the name EXACTLY the same)

2. Choose Data: You can also merge the entries by a specific data set
* Category
* Manufacture
* Brand 
* Type 
* Caliber

3. When merging data sets, you should merge from the smallest data set to the largest data set. EX: If you have 10 firearms that were entered into the category **Pistols** rather than **Revolvers** where you have 200 firearms, the category **Pistols** would be from and **Revolvers** would be to.

4. If when you merge the categories “ **Pistols** ” and “ **Revolvers** ” as in the example above and you want to remove the products from the “ **Pistols** ” category at the same time, check the **Delete From Value** checkbox.

5. Click Process to start the merge.

6. Repeat this process as many times as needed. When done click the **Done** button.
