coreFORCE - Products: Top Products Tags

coreFORCE Advanced and Enterprise Only

In coreFORCE there are two different types of product tags.

  1. Automatic tags
  2. Manual tags

Automatic tags

The automatic tags will automatically be applied to products without input from the user or employee.

  • ALLOCATED - Any products that are in an allocation file from distributors
  • BEST_SELLERS_BY_SALES - Any sales associated with your coreFORCE site
  • MOST_VIEWED - Most viewed products on your coreFORCE site
  • TRENDING_PRODUCTS - This is controlled by a client preference
  • RETAIL_STORE_BEST_SELLER_DEPARTMENT_LIMIT - where you can set a quantity that you want to base the trending status on. By default, it's 2
  • MOST_SEARCHED - Most searched products on your coreFORCE site
  • PRICE_DROP - if this tag exists, products whose base cost from a distributor drop by 10% or more (set by the preference PRICE_DROP_TAG_PERCENTAGE) will be tagged to highlight to consumers.

These can be limited by using the client preference RETAIL_STORE_BEST_SELLER_LIMIT. The default is 50 products per tag, I wouldn't recommend many more than that though.

The only other tags that will automatically tag specific products besides these are ones like FFL_REQUIRED.

Any tags beyond these are a manual process to drive whatever products you want in whichever way. So Best Deals, Products You Might Like, etc are all manually driven.

Manual Tags

All of the Top products tags are configured in Products > Taxonomy > Product Tags. They are all in the preset values dropdown, so to create one of these tags for your site, simply click Add and select the tag you want from the dropdown list.

There are 7 variants:

  • Top sellers on your coreFORCE site
  • Top sellers in all Coreware (across all sites using coreFORCE)
  • Top views on your coreFORCE site
  • Top views in all Coreware
  • Top Searched in your coreFORCE site
  • Top Searched in all Coreware
  • Trending Products in all Coreware

Once you create one of these tags in your site, the system will automatically tag the products.

Once the product tags are created, they can be used as any other product tags. You can create a page that displays only these tags, create a page module on your home page to display these products, etc.  If they are not internal use only, they will appear in the filter sidebar for searches.

The process to tag top sellers can also send you an email if top selling products across all coreFORCE sites are not in your catalog.  To set this up, go to System > Notifications, and add a notification with the code TOP_PRODUCTS.  Add your email address to receive these notifications each night.
