coreFORCE - Orders: Why an Order might Ship to Store instead of Drop Ship
When an order is submitted to a distributor, coreFORCE evaluates all the products in the order and automatically splits them into one of three categories: 1. Ship to store, 2. Dropship to FFL, 3. Dropship to the customer's shipping address. If the distributor does not dropship (see KB Integrated Distributors), all items in the order will be sent as ship-to-store.
It is also possible that some items in the order are blocked from dropshipping. There are several places in coreFORCE where dropship can be blocked:
- "Cannot ship to customer" in the product record
- "Distributors who cannot dropship" in the product record
- "Cannot dropship anything" in the Manufacturer record
- "Cannot dropship these departments" in the Manufacturer record*
- "Cannot ship to customer" in the category record
The final possibility is that the person creating the order checked the "Do not dropship" by mistake when creating the shipment.
In any of those cases, the shipment will be created as ship-to-store even if the order has an FFL selected.
