# coreFORCE - Development: Generating an API Key

It's recommended that you generate a different API key for each company that you want to provide API credentials to.

To generate an API key, got to Developer > API > Developers.

  

To add a new developer click ADD and then enter the company name, along with the first and last name of the contact at the company. You can optionally add additional contact information under the Contact tab.

  

The last and most important step is to specify what API methods this developer has access to. This is done under the Access tab.

  

Once you set the developer up, you can email them the Connection Key which is displayed under the Developer tab. You can also regenerate the key.
