# coreFORCE - Contacts: Merging Duplicate Contacts

# Merging Duplicate Contacts in Coreware

For security reasons, Coreware does not automatically merge contacts. However, the duplicate merge function within Coreware is extremely powerful and easy to use. Here’s how you can merge duplicate contacts:

1. **Navigate to Contacts**
   - Go to: `Contacts -> Contacts`
   - Ensure no contacts are selected. The display should say `0 Selected`. If not, go to: `Actions -> Unselect All`.

2. **Select Contacts to Merge**
   - Select the two contacts you want to merge by clicking the checkbox on the left side of the list.

3. **Merge Contacts**
   - Go to: `Actions -> Merge Selected Contacts`
   - This will take you to a page where you can visually verify everything before merging.
