coreCLEAR - FAQ: My customer signed a receipt and now the signature is gone?

In today's age with EMV technology and such, signatures are actually completely pointless for card-present transactions. Credit card companies can literally look at the locations/group of charges and determine if the customer is lying or not. That's part of why they went to contactless and chips to further prove a cardholder's presence.   It's just the same,  as signatures can be forged at the end of the day. This is why the dispute process no longer looks at signatures for card-present transactions.
